idpure edition on type design

The 12th issue of Idpure Swiss magazine of graphic design and visual creation was dedicated on young type designers work in the glob. I was the young Arabic type design interviewed for the 12th issue of the magazine alongside Nikola Djurek, Kai Bernau, Anton Koovit, Christian Schwartz, Frederik Berlaen, Xavier Dupré.

The questioned asked where about my own Arabic type design work and my view on the Arabic type industry and market at the present moment. i will post the interview on my blog after a while.

I just bumped in to this site doing some research for a job at the moment.
Those spreads look great, I particularly like the right hand spread with the ‘imagery’ mirroring the tight set body copy on the left hand page. I’ll keep a ook out for the magazine now.
@ Qhairunnisa Aziz: If you want to just make a typeface then the software I like to use is Font Lab – it’s quite an easy to use, powerful package for making Open Type or True Type fonts and I use it a lot.
The drawing tools aren’t up to much but it is far easier to just paste the vector paths you have from another program like Adobe Illustrator or Freehand. I prefer Illustrator myself.
